The Mantilla has been used in wedding ceremonies for many years. Its gracefulness has made it a preferred alternative to a standard bridal veil. Long used as a head cover for religious services, the Mantilla is also a preferred choice for First Communion ceremonies. A Mantilla is traditionally shaped in a circular design, made of tulle, chiffon or entirely of lace. It drapes across the top of the head and falls elegantly down the back and over the shoulders. It can be a short simple light design or an elaborate cathedral length with pearls and lace scattered on the veiling. It can be designed to complement most bridal gowns.
